The original, Oscar-winning ARRIMAX remains the best choice for productions requiring maximum light output. The 580 mm (22.8 in) diameter parabolic faceted reflector allows infinitely adjustable focusing over a beam angle range of 15° to 50°. Since the ARRIMAX does not require a diffuser lens kit, it generates sharp shadows that can be easily trimmed.
The unit is safe and easy to use for both 18/12 kW lamps. The single-sided 18,000-watt lamps use a more robust GX51-type socket, for which ARRI engineers designed a special fixture that minimizes mechanical stress on the lamp pins - they now act solely as an electrical connection. The lamp clamping mechanism is self-leveling and features a heavy-duty recessed locking handle.
To ensure easy use of both the 12,000-watt lamp and the 18,000-watt lamp version with the G38 cap, the new lamp mount accepts both types without any modifications or adjustments.
