TAMASHII Primes T2.2

Equipment description

**TAMASHII** represents a new chapter in the world of rehoused vintage lenses. This is the first set of lenses that was developed by selecting specific features and characteristics that each focal length had to match.

Often, in the case of converted photographic lenses, a few focal lengths stand out from the rest, and the “extra” lenses only serve to complement the kit. For example, in the case of the Canon FD, the aspherical 24mm f1.4, 55mm f1.2 and 85mm f1.2 are unique, and they are different in character and performance from the rest of the kit. However, with **TAMASHIA**, each focal length is unique. Each lens meets our exacting requirements for character and performance. Each lens is a gem. Each one will make you fall in love with photography all over again.

The goal of the manufacturers was something really difficult: to create lenses that offer the unique bokeh of the LOMO Super Speeds, the beautiful flare characteristic of the Canon K-35, the sharpness of the Zeiss Super Speeds, but without chromatic aberration, even at the maximum open aperture.

Since the nature of the lens is best revealed at maximum open aperture, we wanted a brightness close to T2. This value is more practical when shooting on FF/LF/VV sensors. T2 still provides high speed, excellent separation of the subject from the background, while keeping the subject in focus. These lenses, all too begging to be used on full-frame sensors, with the aperture wide open - it is under these conditions that they show their unique blend of characteristics. And yes, they are sharp enough to shoot at maximum open aperture.

It took two years of research and testing to develop this set of lenses. Hundreds of lenses were tested to find that perfect set.

The lens housings are not only beautiful, but also functional. Compact design, very good close focus and incredibly lightweight.
The project was developed in collaboration with OldFastGlass, Zero Optik and Ancient Optics.

Our set is No. 002 in the world and, of course, the first in Europe.
