Leitz Hugo-V T1.6 Pre-Asph ZeroOptik
Equipment description
It’s hard to find 3 more stunning lenses than the 1960s/1970s Leica M SUMMILUX 35mm f1.4 (T1.6), 75mm f1.4 (T1.5) and NOCTILUX 50mm f1 (T1.1). Set is extended with 25mm f/1.4(T1.6) custom build with SUMMILUX 35mm from 1960 and a 90 f2 (T2.1) SUMMICRON, which extends on long end set keeping it consistent across.
The lenses use exotic, and high-performing “rare earth” optical glass including lanthanum glass to achieve such incredible optical performance 60+ years ago! Rare in still-photo lenses, they were all designed by the same optical designer: Dr. Walter Mandler Ph.D., which gives the lenses an extremely consistent look across the sets.
The 35mm f1.4 was unmatched in speed and sharpness in the 1960s, and it holds up today. The 75mm f1.4 is arguably one of the most beautiful portrait lenses ever made, and far more beautiful than any 80mm and 85mm you can find. The NOCTILUX 50mm f1 is a legend. Not to be confused with the more well-know and more modern NOCTILUX 50mm f0.95 - the 50mm f1 is from the 70s
Together these lenses share a character unlike any other lenses. They are sharp, they have a very subtle halation, known by many as the “Leica glow,” that is very flattering on your subject, and ideal for digital sensors. Flares are gorgeous, bokeh has a subtle texture to it that looks wonderful wherever you set your focus.
Those lenses are truly an unique gem as there are only 3 sets in the world possible to rent out. Used on "White Lotus. S.3" and "Pachinko S.2".
