On the last Sunday of June, we kept our finger on the pulse of every athletic surge. The Czesław Cybulski Memorial required us to keep a cool head in a nearly 40-degree heatwave. While all the athletes fought for their best results, we fought for the best shots. Anyone could feel the true excitement… and not just at the stadium 🏟️
Every track and field discipline has its own unique character that demanded a tailored approach, which is why we deployed top-tier technology. 💪🏼 What does that mean in practice? ➡️ Our 25-camera, 2-gallery UHD2 OB van. Each competition area received its own custom equipment setup. A total of 18 Sony HDC 3500 and 4300 cameras were deployed across the entire stadium. We brought in 3 SSL super slow motion cameras with BOX lenses, allowing us to showcase the most spectacular moments in slow-mo. Another 3 specialized minicams were mounted directly at the jumping events, giving us a perfect view of the millimeters that decided the pole vault, high jump, and long jump results. 🦘 Meanwhile, dynamic shots were delivered by a P31 camera operating on a steadicam. ⚡️ We also utilized two reliable HCAM wireless links, providing complete freedom of movement for the steadicam operator, among others. The entire signal was smoothly recorded by 3 modern 12-channel EVS VIA servers. Every second of the sporting action converged in our OB van, where we set the tone for the entire broadcast production. 😮💨
We captured every muscle in motion, every drop of sweat, and the fierce rivalry of the athletes. This was a broadcast operating on the exact same wavelength as the sporting thrills. Take a look at a quick recap from that weekend 📸
